Winterize your car with Sawyerwood ServiceWe appreciate you considering us for your automotive maintenance and repair needs
Our winter checklist is probably one of the most important things you can do for your car. Cold temperatures, snow and ice can be hard on your car and dangerous for your family if all your car systems are not in good working order. Bring your car into Sawyerwood and our certified technicians will be sure your car is ready to go for the winter.
We check the following:
Battery
A weak battery is vulnerable to cold temperatures, draining more quickly and potentially leaving you stranded. We check your battery for a full charge and replace it if necessary. We also check cables and terminals for corrosion.
Coolant and antifreeze levels
We will flush if necessary, and check for the right mix of coolant to antifreeze to keep your car running all winter.
Fluid levels, including brake, transmission, power steering, and washer
All fluids should be clean and filled to the proper level, with the proper mix of antifreeze to prevent freezing as the temperature drops.
Oil and filter
Regular oil changes are a must all year. We ascertain your car is ready for winter by checking all components and offering a winter blend of oil.
Windshield wipers
You may have replaced them in the spring, but we will check them to be sure they get you through the winter. We also offer winter blades that are protected from ice buildup.
Tires
We check them for even wear, tread depth and inflation, or install snow tires if you prefer. We recommend checking your tire pressure weekly through the winter months, as cold weather will cause your tires to become under-inflated.
Brakes
We inspect your entire braking system, including pads and rotors, brake lines, and antilock systems, to be sure you are ready for treacherous roads.
Hoses and belts
Hoses and belts that are worn and beginning to dry out will be more vulnerable to temperature changes. We replace those that are likely to fail in cold weather.
Lights
We check headlights, taillights, backup lights, turn signals and flashers to be sure all are working.
Emergency kit
